About WDVR Radio
WDVR is a listener-supported, community-oriented station, offering radio programming suitable for the entire family.
WDVR hit the air waves on February 19, 1990 as a non-commercial radio station licensed to Penn-Jersey Educational Radio, a New Jersey, 501 (c) (3), Non-Profit Corporation. Its mission is to provide high quality, entertaining and educational programming to the Delaware and Lehigh Valley areas of Western and Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
WDVR is a full-service station operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on the FM dial at 89.7 in Delaware Township, NJ; 90.5 WPNJ in Easton, PA.; and 96.9 which serves the communities in and around Trenton, Princeton and Lawrenceville NJ. On the internet WDVR can be heard streaming live on www.wdvrfm.org .
WDVR provides a uniquely diversified format of music and talk, utilizing a staff of over 50 unpaid volunteers, each with his or her own specialized passion…a veritable 50-color gem creating a beautiful audio mosaic. These formats include traditional Country, Bluegrass, 50’s & 60’s oldies, album-oriented rock, folk, Big Band and Celtic. Our talk show hosts provide educational and informational programming covering national, regional and local issues. News, weather and special features are aired throughout the day.
WDVR is the only station in the entire North East which airs a two-hour live traditional Country music show. The show is called Heartlands Hayride and showcases the talents of local/regional Country & Bluegrass performers. It airs the second and fourth Saturdays each month from 6 to 8 PM.
In the often-voiced and unsolicited opinion of our dedicated listeners, “WDVR is a rare breath of fresh air, in the cookie-cutter sameness of today’s radio landscape”.
